1956 1st “alcoholic” drink
My family went to Western Maryland
the town of Accident, Maryland
to be exact, to celebrate my mother’s
second marriage.
Population 325 in the 2010 census.
The folks were all drinking champagne
(even though this union would end very badly).
They sent me and my “cousin” out to the
backyard
and we sat on the porch with 2 champagne glasses and one can of Canada Dry
to split.
We poured the golden bubbly and
voila!
We were toasting like the
sophisticated adults.
This is,
as I remember,
my first taste of “alcohol”

and I unequivocally loved it!
